Meet Our Team

Trecia Powell

President and Founder

Born in Manchester, Trecia developed a thirst for business at very young age. She started selling sweets in 8th Grade while at Manchester High School then she was hooked. She later evolved that business spirit by turning tutoring and doing laundry into a business while studying at the University of Technology, Jamaica. She later started her company in 2017 “Virtual Office Genius International Services Limited”. However, following the many struggles she experienced with her own business, she realized that other businesses out there must be experiencing the same type of difficulties too, thus she created The Jamaica Business Society.

Glenroy Lawrence

Vice President

Glenroy rose from humbling beginnings to claim his place in the business community of St. James, where he was born and raised, and attended the St. James High School. Becoming a businessman was never his first thought but his journey eventually took him there. He harnessed his skills while working as a trade’s man. Later he found this wasn’t enough for him and decided to start a business with his business partner Devon Scarlett. Having over 15 years of experience in the field of Air-conditioning and   Refrigeration plus being certified as a licensed electrician via Heart/NTA, he decided to use his skills to strengthen his community who in turn stands by him. He started his business in 2012 “De’ Cool Ruler, Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration”. Business can be a difficult struggle as they learned pretty quickly. He decided to join The Jamaica Business Society as he believes, it will be a welcome solution for business people, capable of opening many doors towards their dreams of business ownership in Jamaica.
